July Summary
July has been a pretty good reading month for me! I managed to read a very eclectic mix of books ranging from young adult and fantasy to crime and translated fiction! King of Thorns deserves a special mention not only because I bloody love that series, but also because I’m still eternally grateful to Mark for letting me reading a very early copy so that you lovely readers can get an early review
I thoroughly enjoyed the follow up to Prince of Thorns and if you haven’t come across this soon-to-be trilogy, then now is definitely the time! Of course, choosing my book of the month was actually very easy this time around. I fell in love with Why We Broke Up by Daniel Handler almost as much as I fell for John Green’s The Fault In Our Stars; which is no easy feat considering it still remains my book of the year so far! Why We Broke Up is due out on the 6th August, so read the review and do yourself a favour and pre-order it because you won’t regret it!! Here is a quick summary of everything I’ve read in July, in order of how much I enjoyed them:
Book of the Month

Why We Broke Up by Daniel Handler
Why We Broke Up didn’t leave me in a mess of tears and tissues like John Green’s The Fault in our Stars did, but I really did feel an emotional connection to these characters, and I literally cherished every single page. It’s definitely one of my books of the year, and I hope this review will encourage more people to pick it up and give it a go! I’m sure most of us have experienced what it’s like to fall in love for the first time, and no matter what age you are or whether you’re male or female, I challenge each of you not to find something in this book that will capture your heart and stay with you for many years to come.

Plans for August
Well some of you may know already, but I’m actually off on holiday to Greece in about a week’s time so I’m going to branch away from my review pile for a bit, and read some books that I’ve been meaning to read for a while now, and will make perfect beach reads, such as; The Help by Kathryn Stockett, The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller and I’m dabbling over the third choice, but possibly Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. There is one more title I’m hoping to squeeze in before my hols, and that’s Tigers in Red Weather by Liza Klaussmann. After my hols, I’m not quite sure what I’ll read, but I have to say I am getting itchy feet to delve back into The Game of Thrones series! So we shall see…. I hope everyone enjoys the last of the summer
