The Book Monkey’s First Birthday & Win a copy of Divergent!

May 3, 2011

THE BOOK MONKEY BLOG’S FIRST BIRTHDAY!

So it is officially one whole year since I started this blog. Since then it has grown more than I ever could have hoped! I’ve reviewed countless books, met lots of new people, and become a part of the blogging community! I get so much out of doing this in my spare time, but the fact that so many of you read the things I write makes it all worthwhile!

So what better way to celebrate than a giveaway?!

I’m giving one lucky person the chance to win a brand new copy of the young adult novel Divergent by Veronica Roth which was published today (3rd May). If you liked The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins then I gaurantee you will enjoy Divergent!

In sixteen-year-old Beatrice Prior’s world, society is divided into five factions – Abnegation (the selfless), Candor (the honest), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent) – each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue, in the attempt to form a “perfect society.” At the age of sixteen, teens must choose the faction to which they will devote their lives.

On her Choosing Day, Beatrice renames herself Tris, rejects her family’s group, and chooses another faction. After surviving a brutal initiation, Tris finds romance with a super-hot boy, but also discovers unrest and growing conflict in their seemingly “perfect society.” To survive and save those they love, they must use their strengths to uncover the truths about their identities, their families, and the order of their society itself.

You can read my review of Divergent by clicking here.

So to enter this competition all you have to do is tell me which of the five factions you would join and why:

Abnegation (the selfless)

Candor (the honest)

Dauntless (the brave)

Amity (the peaceful)

Erudite (the intelligent)

You can either email your answer to me at bookmonkey@live.co.uk or reply to this post and leave your answer as a comment!

This competition is open to the UK only and will close a week today on Tuesday 10th May.

Best Answer Wins!

Good Luck Everyone!

It would have to be Amity (peace), with more energy going into that than in terrorism, especially with recent turn of events on the news.

Just from reading the descriptions, I would probably have to go with Candor (the honest). I have this annoying inability to lie.

    Thanks for doing this giveaway!

I took the test app on Facebook, and the result says that I’m Erudite (the intelligent). I wish to contribute my intelligence to the benefit of mankind, and not the detriment of the society.
